The annual spend on earthworks in the UK is believed to be in the order of £1bn-1.5bn. However, much of the knowledgebase is in practices developed decades ago and in people that have long-since retired. Following on from the BGA’s very successful Geo-resilience conference, Earthworks 2025 will focus primarily on the design and construction of new earthworks.
Abstract submissions for the conference have been submitted under the following primary themes:
Design of modern earthworks
Behaviour of engineered geo-materials
Specification of earthworks and contract documentation
Compaction and testing methods
Treatment and stabilisation of earthworks
Monitoring of earthworks and risk management
Advances in plant and earthworks construction technology
